Preston trying to copy me when i do the "motor boat" noise with my lips. He is learning so much and trying to communicate in his own way ;-) We are also glad that he is steering away from the high pitched squealing. We think this is way more funny.

Sushi, V day and of course Preston
So Davin is currently working as a waiter at a Japanese steak house while going to school. He has tried a bunch of sushi and has decided that he really likes it and he wanted me to try it. Since he gets a discount i said what the heck i will try it and believe it or not i really like it too. Our favorite kinds are the most unhealthy kinds....the deep fried ones lol Which my friend who went on a mission to Japan for 18 months has informed us that sushi that is deep fried is not "real" sushi....oh well we love it! Anyways long story short we thought it would be so much fun to try and make it ourselves....the above picture is our first sushi roll the California roll. It looks so good doesn't it? lol it actually tasted like sushi....crazy right? we really are amazing.

Needless to say we went out for sushi for Valentines day....we were so full!! It was soo good too. After we ate we went to see the movie Percy Jackson, the lightening thief. It was all way fun and i am glad we got to go out while Seth watched Preston! Preston had so much fun with his uncle!
Davin is quite the artist. When your stomach is full everything is a smiley face...

Preston has discovered his feet lately....well at least discovered that he is in control of them!
We have discovered that Preston has to be fed in only his diaper cause he gets baby food everywhere! He loves to spit it onto his hand and lick it off...yuck! Believe it or not but the baby food still ends up on his diaper somehow. lol needless to say he loves all the different kinds....he does not discriminate.
Davin thought Preston was looking pretty tough in this outfit....lol minus the Binky i guess.
So we bought a safety bumper to keep Preston's arms and legs in the crib because he always gets them stuck out. However Preston's new favorite thing is to kick down the front panel and stick his feet out.....so annoying. He will sleep like this too. Oh and also in January we got him sleeping without his binky because he was waking us up throughout the night because he would lose his binky and want it back. He sleeps much better now without it once he learned how to sleep on his own. Since December he has been going to bed around 9pm and waking up at around 6am for a bottle and then going back to sleep till 830am or sometimes even 9am! we are loving it! Also he has a new love for his blankets and everything soft...he likes to touch his face with them and hold them....so cute!
Now we have to put a coat on him and try and fit him in the car seat....such a pain. ;-P He is quickly outgrowing his car seat sadly.

I put a jar of baby food on his tray while i went to grab a bowl to mix the cereal and baby food together (which is his favorite way to eat his baby food) and when i turned around this is what i found. Apparently Preston has learned that baby food comes from those small jars even though i haven't ever fed him right out of a jar yet. he pulled the jar right to his mouth like he was going to drink it. Silly guy. We also started putting a plastic bib on him to stop the baby food from getting on his diaper....he is soo messy!

Preston's six month check up and random stuff
Preston has been working on sitting up and squealing. Yes that is right squealing...he thinks it is the coolest thing that he can do with his voice. He is smiling and laughing now which is so much fun!
One morning Preston woke up with a Binky stuck to the side of his face. He turned to look at me and there it was...i could not help but laugh. He didn't even seem to mind or notice it. We had to get a picture.
Preston's favorite toy at the moment. He even falls asleep with it.
around 1/11/2010 he finally could sit up for a few seconds when we sat him up. Davin's hand was waiting for his famous tip over.
On 1/13/2010 Preston finally was sitting up for more like 2 minutes at a time so we didn't have to sit right next to him.
At the end of January he is still practicing his sitting skills with a pillow behind for protection against those unexpected falls backwards.
He was so proud!
Davin thought it was way funny when Preston thought he could drink out of the Dr Pepper bottle. lol
on 1/28/2010 (the day after his six month check up) he was able to start baby food! He made this terrible face when he first took a spoonful.....
then he just couldn't get enough of it. He is like a little bird he keeps his mouth wide open for more!
Oh and his 6 month stats are
Height: 90th percentile, 28 1/2 inches
Weight: 70th percentile, 18.12 pounds
His Head was: 75th percentile
So he has a big head oh darn lol. Hope that means he will be super smart! He is tall and pretty thin. We love him so much and are so glad that he is a happy healthy little guy!
Oh this is a video of Preston making his various noises including his current high pitched squealing that drives us crazy....;-) well i couldn't get it to work i will try again later...

opps....christmas in michigan
Well i guess i am a little slow at posting these days.
This Christmas we flew out to Michigan just like last Christmas so we could be around family. We were in Michigan from the 18th of December till the 2nd of January. I think we were in Michigan too long because at the end of vacation we just didn't want to leave. I guess my blog is more of a photo journal. Also sorry but i am too lazy to put them in date order. lol here we go......
Just Preston and i at my parents house after the long trip to Michigan from Utah. He was a tired little guy. He hardly slept at all because the airport was just soo interesting....he loved watching all the people going here and there. He was really good for the flight too he mainly slept.

Preston loved hanging out with his Grandpa Burke.
Amy wore my dad's head light when she needed to finish packing her stuff from her room because Preston was sleeping in there and she didn't want to turn on the over head light and wake him. What a good auntie. Oh and she was packing to go back to school in Idaho.
Preston loved being carried around by his Grandpa Burke. Notice the drool spot on my dad's shoulder?.....he pretty much always had a wet spot on his shoulder from Preston.

The majority of Davin's family that is in Michigan. Davin's mom and dad had everyone over....it was a full house!! Even though 3 of the siblings were not there because they are out of state!

My dad was walking around with Preston as usual and one of Preston's socks fell off. My dad couldn't find the sock so he decided to put one of his socks on Preston. lol Preston didn't seem to mind.
