Thanksgiving in Iowa! Reception in Michigan!

This was my dad at the hospital in Iowa City when we went to visit him. He was sore after the heart cath. but doing very well! woohoo!! He was released shortly after 1 on thanksgiving so my parents didn't make it to thanksgiving dinner but they made it in plenty of time to visit. Sadly my dad had a temperature when the hospital went to release him so he was on antibiotics. The doctors weren't too sure what it was.
Thanksgiving!! We all had a great time! I haven't been to an Oesterle's thanksgiving in 3 years I loved getting to see everyone! The food was amazing...as always!! ;-) Preston had a great time following all the cousins around and playing!

Games and snacks...couldn't ask for more!!
Preston with his great grandpa!!

This is us at Amy's reception in Michigan we left on black Friday. Everyone set up Saturday morning for the reception Saturday evening. Preston and I had to hold down the fort at my parents house because Preston would have gotten into everything. My dad had to go to the urgent care that morning because we thought he had pneumonia which he did end up having so my dad stayed home with Preston and I while everyone else slaved away ;-P Wasn't so bad if you ask me. ;-)
Daddy daughter dance!! Amy looked amazing...and I guess Jake didn't look too bad either. j/k lol

Preston wishing he could walk and chase Elise's boys Wil and Cooper during the reception.
Megan, Scarlett, Preston and Davin having a good time!! ;-)

Amy's bachelorette party and wedding in Illinois

Sunday the 21st of November (yes that is the day right after Davin and Jake flew in) Amy, Jake, Davin, Preston, and I hit the road to Nauvoo, Illinois after picking up the tuxes. It was about a 9 hour drive from my parents house to Nauvoo, Illinois for Amy's wedding on the 23rd. Yikes!! However Preston only got sad the last hour of the trip....he was just voicing the way we all felt that last hour....lol

This was at the only restaurant in town for Amy's "bachelorette" party....no worries...nothing to risqué or anything we just wore fake eye glasses, noses and paper mustaches. The people at the small restaurant thought we were exceptionally cool.....LoL. We also played apples to apples and ate cake....MMmmmm!! ;-) It was really fun.
Amy trying out her wedding day.... disguise....lol

Amy and Jake were successfully married and looking fabulous!! Shortly after family pictures when Seth, Megan, Scarlett, Davin, me, Preston and my dad were in the hotel room packing up my dad collapsed and we had to call an ambulance. He was taken to a small hospital in Iowa (about 30 mins from Nauvoo, Illinois.) my mom had to be called out from Amy and Jake's photo shoot to go with my dad. The whole experience was very scary.
This was us at the Dinner Jake's family put on a few hours after the wedding and my dad going to the hospital. My mom and dad couldn't come because they were at the hospital. Seth, Megan, and Scarlett came late because they had gone to the hospital as well. The dinner was very nice.

Preston loves his Auntie Amy!
Amy wore a huge bag thing that was decorated to keep her dress from getting dirty.

We sat with Elise and her 2 boys for dinner. lol Cooper didn't want to smile and Preston just wanted to eat!
Shortly after dinner we found out that my dad had to be transferred to the bigger hospital with the capabilities for a heart cath. in Iowa City, Iowa. Megan's parents live in Iowa city so we decided to pack up shop and go stay at Megan's parents house which was not too far from the hospital my dad was being transferred too. Megan and Scarlett got a ride from Megan's sister Alicia to their parent's house. Seth, Preston, Davin and I stopped by the smaller hospital before my dad was transferred so Davin and Seth could give him a blessing. My dad was in somewhat stable condition and it was nice to see him talking and in good spirits after the initial incident which had really made me nervous.

That Wednesday we just hung out at Megan's parents and visited my parents at the hospital. We found out during our visit to the hospital that my dad would most likely be released on thanksgiving because his heart looked good during the heart cath. so it wasn't another heart attack. With that news we decided to pack up shop again and drive to Waterloo, Iowa (only about 11/2 hours away) to stay the night before Thanksgiving at my grandparents house with all the extended family! ;-)

back to Michigan and Amy's wedding shower!

Preston and I flew into Michigan on Wednesday 11/17/2010 all by ourselves for Amy's upcoming wedding. Davin was flying in a few days later (because of school) on the 20th. It was the first time that I have ever flown alone....well alone except for Preston. I was really nervous but the flight was great! We got an entire row to ourselves thanks to the flight attendant lady!! Preston had plenty of room to play and he did sleep for a while too. I couldn't figure out why i was so nervous in the first place! ;-)
Once we landed it was non stop wedding prep and shopping craziness! lol I didn't really even have time to miss Davin since this was the first time we spent a entire night without each other since being married!!

When we got to my parents my mom couldn't find Preston's feeding bib so she just put a garbage bag around him. ;-P Poor kid! Actually i think he liked it better than the normal bib. lol
He loved playing with my dad's get well balloons. (my dad had just had a heart attack 2 weeks prior)
Woohoo!! On to my sister's bridal shower 11/19/10. This was the yummy food!! Elise hosted the party and lots of others helped as well.
Preston wanted in on the action. Amy was as happy as can be!!
All of the presents! Amy had a great turn out also it was very fun! We played a few games...this picture was taken during bridal shower bingo!!

Halloween Festivities

First of all, Seth and Megan invited Preston and I to go to their wards(church) Halloween party the weekend before Halloween. It was fun minus the fact that Davin had to work and couldn't come. There was a chili cook off and good snacks. The kids got to go trick or treating at the rooms in the church. They all loved it! Preston couldn't really figure out what was going on but he still had fun!

He held onto his bucket almost the whole night! Our cute little vampire!
There were a few balloons everywhere and Preston loved chasing them all.
Seth Held onto Preston and Scarlett so Megan and I could eat.

He figured it out....

Preston playing keep away. lol

Lots of people came. There was a DJ playing Halloween music.

The week before Halloween we carved our pumpkins. Preston didn't really want to get his hands dirty but he was super excited none the less.

guts....ewww
He didn't mind holding the top...
For some reason he wanted to sit down on the job.
Then attack me...
The only way I got him to stick his hand inside the pumpkin at all is by putting the pumpkin scoop in there....i guess i should be happy about that. ;-)
Our pumpkins! Mine is on the left....I carved it freehand ;-) I am so proud. We didn't carve Preston's pumpkin and Davin's is just so happy...lol

The Friday before Halloween Seth got us tickets to go to his work's Halloween party/haunted houses in his work's office buildings. It was AWESOME! There were a bunch of different themed areas in the buildings...one had a waterfall, north pole/penguin theme, monopoly, avatar type theme... etc. All of them were so cool! Also Preston wasn't scared at all even at the scary ones. We dressed up as zombies and Preston was a vampire! ;-)

Preston couldn't figure out what was going on.
I love that he is smiling right at the camera lol.
we look gross....lol I guess that is what we were going for ;-P
On Halloween Preston and I handed out candy while Davin worked. Overall a fun October. ;-)

motorcycle and MY Birthday!

Shortly after we got back from our trip to Michigan we bought a motorcycle to replace our scooter which was stolen. We decided to get a motorcycle because motorcycles are to heavy to just pick up and take in a truck....seriously! ;-P Also (of course) Davin didn't want to buy another scooter...he wanted a motorcycle. We ended up buying a smaller used road bike off of KSL (similar to craigslist, just local) a 2008 Yamaha V-star 250. Davin loves it...i still have yet to take a picture of it with the camera this is just a picture with my phone. The motorcycle is in great condition and is a maroon color (if you couldn't tell). I have ridden on it once with Davin...it was pretty fun ;-) We also are a lot more cautious with the motorcycle then we were with the scooter...we keep it parked in front of our car...so in order to steal the bike they would need to steal the car...which maybe could be a bad thing? lol jk

For my Birthday Davin threw me a surprise party. This is how it happened........
We started by dropping Preston off at Seth and Megan's so they could babysit him so Davin and I could go out. We went to outback steakhouse...yumm. Then we went to play pool at the BYU recreation center. It was fun but since i was just getting over a cold i got kinda tired and just wanted to watch a movie at home. But Davin said how about just a little longer so we kept playing for like an hour and 15 mins...lol the last game i quit halfway through and Davin finished alone ;-P Then we headed home to just relax and watch a movie without Preston. Davin took the long way home and once we pulled into our parking spot Davin was saying that maybe we should make out in the car like old times...he just made me laugh. (he was buying time). Then our apartment manager was outside and we just chit chatted for a little bit. Then Davin wanted us to check the mail before going into the apartment....together. (buying more time) Then i opened the door to a small surprise party. I was very surprised. It was fun..with Linzee and her kids, Seth and Megan brought Preston and Scarlett, Jason,Robbie, Ali and Stephen. Not a lot of pictures do to Davin having to take them and host...what a good husband ;-)
It was a good 24th birthday?! I can't believe i am 24!! Life is starting to pick up the pace i swear! Honestly 5 years ago I did not have any of this envisioned for myself.(this-meaning my current life lol not the surprise party)Being married with a child? No way. I am a planner and a checklist person and i can assure you none of this was planned so soon. However i am glad that life is a ride and that i cannot plan it no matter how hard I try. Also I do not think my life would be even close to as wonderful as it is now if i had planned it all out. I have a wonderful husband who totally came out of no where and swept me off my feet. Then a wonderful little boy who just could not wait one more minute to be here and has made our lives a little more complicated but all the more amazing! I have learned so much in the last year. Like.....

1)What life is really about...family!
2) enjoy the small things
3) not to sweat the small stuff
4) not to live with the idea that when we are done with school our "life" will start....life is now!
5)" Birds have bills too but they keep singing"...lol seriously! Money will come and go and go...;-P
6) sometimes love really IS all we need.
..........My life has had ups and downs but I would not have it any other way. Happy 24 years to me!
