a tribute and some fun in June

Our June went by way too quick with everything that had happened. The beginning of June we sadly got the news that we have been dreading for the last couple years...that Davin's mother Bobbie Jarvinen had passed away. Her health had been failing her since we had gotten married and knowing that she is no longer suffering helps. However, Bobbie can never be replaced and she is missed by so many. She was a wonderful woman and person in general. She was always so up beat and never passed judgment on others. I am so sad that my children will never get to personally know their Grandma Jarvinen, but i hope with all of the stories we will tell of her they will almost feel like that know her. I still remember the first time i went over for dinner and it was so funny because she was pouring water into someone else's glass and she knocked over my glass all over me. I laughed but she felt so bad about it...she said, "don't worry this does not reflect the way i feel about you." lol She was so funny and always wanted to make people happy and feel welcome....and she did! I could not of asked for a better mother-in-law...no matter how short of a time she was in my life. She is missed very much in our household, that is for sure!

After we heard the news of her passing the very next day we had to jump in the car and drive 28 hours straight in order to make it by Friday for the viewing. We were absolute exhausted. My mom helped out with all the funeral arrangements because well it was left up to Bob (my father in law) and some of the brothers...and you know how guys are with making decisions. Anyways the viewing and funeral turned out very nice and i am sure Bobbie would have been proud at how well the boys put it all together. Jeremy made a very nice memory video that was shown at the viewing and the funeral. It was nice to be able to remember the good times with the family and friends. I learned some new things about the Jarvinens as well. It was nice to see everyone and be in Michigan but it was sad for the reason behind it. Bobbie was buried in a lovely little county cemetery less than a mile from my house. My kids will know that place and we will for sure tell stories about her. Love and miss you Bobbie!

So i could not figure out how to move the pictures so here is the after picture of a coffee table that we bought off the the classifieds on KSL. We bought the coffee table and end table together...sanded and painted them...good as new...right? lol We also bought a walker off of KSL for Preston but Preston liked walking around the coffee table more than walking in the walker...go figure!

Yes i went to the new Twilight movie Eclipse on opening night! SOoo fun! Although i was quite tired staying up that late...i am so a mom now lol. Just in case you were wondering we did not buy those T-shirts we made them...crazy i know...they are just so awesome! ;-P

Davin thought it was so funny when Preston started putting his thumb into his binkie and it gets stuck there till we pull it off pretty much.

mother's day and the rest of May!

Preston is getting around now, just very slowly. His version of crawling is not very efficient...that is for sure!

My first mother's day was terrible. Not because my husband didn't do nice things and get me great presents it was mainly the fact that i woke up at 1:30 in the morning throwing up!! Yes that is right i ended up with the stomach flu on mother's day!! It was by far the worst stomach flu i have ever had in my life! Later that night Davin had to take me to the instacare because i was so dehydrated! I ended up needing 2 bags of IV fluids. Davin and Preston got me a gift certificate for a massage and a tanning package. They did a good job with the presents since it is just what i wanted. Davin had planned to make me a nice meal but i couldn't eat anything. Sad day! Davin was very caring and took care of Preston while i was on my death bed...lol or so i thought. ;-P What a great way to spend mother's day...i hope next year goes a lot smoother!

For memorial day we went shopping...woohoo! Got some good deals on clothes and stuff. Then later in the day we went over to Seth and Megan's and played a video game all together (which was actually kinda fun, i usually hate video games). Also Seth BBQed some hamburgers and we had some yummy food! I sadly forgot to take pictures...i fail!! Preston acted really funny every time he saw their cat! He would squeal and clap his hands. His whole body would shake with excitement....Funniest thing ever!! Wish i had got that on video. Maybe next time when we go over he will do the same funny thing. The craziest thing is that their cat would actually walk over to him...Preston just wanted to rip her fur out. Poor cat! ;-P

!st day of school!

Okay so last night was my first day of my first college class in 3 years!! I was soo nervous it was pathetic. ;-P All in all it went quite well minus the fact that i was about a minute late because i couldn't find the class! How embarrassing! Thankfully i wasn't the only one since the class was hidden in the basement!

This summer i am signed up for 2 classes for the semester. My class for the first 7 weeks of summer is English 2010 (the one i started last night) the second 7 weeks of summer is going to be "American Heritage" which is needed as a core class at UVU (Utah Valley University). I feel really good about going back to school and getting a degree....however after my class and reading through the syllabus last night i remembered how much WORK school is! LoL how in the world i had forgotten that is beyond me! but seriously WHAT was i THINKING! Summer classes are soo short that each day counts as a week for a normal semester. ahh! I CAN do this! At least that is what i keep telling myself. Last night was a bit overwhelming. My class is Mondays and Wednesdays 6 to 8:30. I am soo glad that the teacher gives us a break every forty five minutes. Also that Davin is able to watch little Preston while i am at school! I think the boys had a rough night last night....well at least Davin did. lol But i am sure it will get easier for Davin. I think he thought that i just gave Preston his toys and just did whatever else i wanted throughout the day/ night....haha was he wrong!! Not that Preston is a bad baby it is just that he is older and wants you to play with him! lol!

My mom got Preston the cutest pin striped suit that matches pretty close to Davin's suit. They are so handsome! I Love Love them!! My little man is getting so big! He is looking more like a little boy then a baby.....they REALLY do grow up soo fast!

Preston's onesie had gotten really damp from him drooling but i left it on him cause i was just going to give him a bath and put on his pjs. However since it was so damp he started grabbing at it and pulling it cause the material was starting to sag from all the drool. He then became very interested in his own skin under the clothes that he totally stretched it out lol

He always thinks it is funny when i tell him to stop doing something.....i hope this doesn't continue this his whole life. ;-P

It was so funny that the night my parents left Preston decided that he wanted to get mobile. I walked out of the room and when i came back i looked for him where all his toys were (where i had left him) but he was gone. i quickly turned to see Preston all the way under the table....how did he do that? we found out it was by rolling repeatedly and kicking and pulling...lol hard work to chew on the chair leg! So at 9 months he is still not crawling but he is getting there. He will now stay on his stomach all by himself and rotate around and try to "army" crawl. We are fine with him not crawling because then we would be chasing him everywhere! ;-P

Ok so his feet look a little funny....it is because his feet aren't in the little feet things....they don't reach yet ;-P However his body is plenty long enough for the 18 month pj's!

Right now Preston loves watching baby Einstein shows and eating his socks. LoL!

Preston is finally wanting to hold his bottle! He likes to hold a toy at the same time! He is quite the multitasker!

Preston likes to hold the bouncer while Scarlett is in it....at least he isn't pulling her hair! Overall he has been pretty good with Scarlett being here. I like having another girl around too.

Alright so now for his 9 month stats....

Height: 29 1/2 inches tall 80th percentile

Weight: 21.9 lbs 60th percentile

Head: 50th percentile

He is slowing down a little bit which is surprising but he is still quite tall. According to the doctor he is strong and healthy. Also his head looks better so the doctor isn't going to have us do another x ray he thinks his skull is leveling out and will be fine! Woohoo!! ;-)

Parents visit! Seth's graduation and Scarlett's blessing.

So my dad ended up with pneumonia the beginning of April and was in the hospital all the way up until a week and a half before my parents were planning to fly to Utah for Seth's graduation and for his little girl Scarlett's blessing. Thankfully my dad was feeling well enough to fly out to utah! Woohoo. They flew in Late Thursday night.

Preston did pretty well sitting for almost 3 hours granted he did sleep for an hour or so of that in grandpa Burke's arms. Although as this picture indicates he wanted the camera!!

In the confusion of the huge crowd we got lost and couldn't find them for pictures but this is a picture of seth, megan, and there little cutie Scarlett with my parents. Woohoo a BYU grad!

Amy and her fiance Jake even came down to utah from idaho for the second weekend in a row to visit with everyone! I got to go dress shopping with my mom and amy for her wedding dress Saturday. It was a lot of fun and she found "the dress". It is beautiful and she looks great!! Love ya sis!

That Sunday Scarlett was blessed. This is a picture of all of us in front of Megan's grandparents house. As you can tell it was very sunny that day!

Preston spit up all over his dress clothes so i had to change him. My dad was carrying Preston around and he fell asleep with his 2 fingers in his mouth. love it!!

Also for the blessing my aunt Wilodene and my 2 cousins and their kids came from my dad's side of the family. It was way nice that they could make it!

The last night my parents were in town (Tuesday) we went bowling. It was so fun. The competition was boys vs girls.....sadly the girls lost. ;-P

My dad even bowled! We kept saying that he shouldn't bowl because it would make him too tired but he did just fine for the one game up until the last frame. He is a really good bowler....sadly i did not get this trait...lol

Preston was not having as much fun as we were....poor guy!

After bowling we went to subzero for ice cream. It was pretty good actually. Preston just wanted to eat the napkins...he did enjoy that. ;-)

Sadly the day came when they had to leave. It was so nice having my parents here! It was a very busy weekend and it was over before we knew it! Preston was very sad the day they left too cause that night (Wednesday) was when he started teething big time!! Yuck!! Wish we lived closer! One day....one day... lol hopefully!
